“Superman and the Ubermensch”

In a vision,

“I am smack-dab in a field of purple poppies. There’s something else, though. A scent reminiscent of a Spring wedding pulls me toward a clearing just past the merry-go-round. There’s a table so long the chairs at the end disappear into the horizon. On the table, wrapped around the chairs, woven in the arches of the gazebo that seems to disappear into the distance as well, is a mixture of pink and white roses, phlox, and dahlias, and elegant calla lily’s. For the guests of honor, simple bench seats under the “Flamboyant Tree” (Royal Poinciana tree.)

“Why am I here?” I ask no one in particular. I look around for answers … maybe I should go in search of my friends?

But, no. He’s here. There’s no reason to search any more. I am at peace, at last. I am Home.

This old journal entry of mine came across my awareness because there’s something I have to tell you.

All around us, I’ve been noticing something. There’s a feeling rising up; voices, young and old, speaking out and standing up for what they believe is the betterment of humanity. Standing up for the sanctity of life on Earth. Spreading truth that has been hidden from us and has threatened our chances for a world of Super beings.

To those people who want to live in a better world, I say, stand up and be counted. Represent.  Be an ubermensch through your actions …. but first, you’ve got to save yourself.
If there is longing in you for something better, analyze yourself. What does “better” mean? Ya figured it out yet? Once you have, Be that new hero of yourself.

This Ubermensch thing is not easy. That’s why We can’t fix the world — We’re still trapped IN it!

In the Bible, Jesus Christ has given us a how-to manual. A few decades ago, it rose up as WWJD bracelets. The problem is too many of us don’t know what Jesus would do if He were here today. So we’re lost. We don’t know because most of us have only learned that the Saviour of humanity already did that. “There’s no need for anyone else to try,” we are told.

I think there’s a little bit of a problem here. …
Let’s continue with today’s lesson..

Luke 9:23 is a concise summary of our directions,

“And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” (Luke 9:23, KJV)

Christ tells us that what He has done, we can do now that He has opened the way for us,

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” (John14:12)

He told us what to do; He told us we would do better things, but most of us are fuzzy on His example. Did you know WE are the ones who shall do greater works?
What are we waiting for? Um, maybe it’s because most of us don’t know that we are supposed to be Super men?

So, what would Superman do?

How about we try this out in our own lives? What would Superman (or Clark Kent) do if he were in our place? What if what we’re thinking of doing does not feel like He would back us at the Justice League?

I don’t think I have to go further with the What-ifs … you get the point. And no cheating. The Superman we have known through movies and cartoons is a stand-up guy who always does what is right in every situation. Most of us would not ever doubt what Superman stands for.

So, what would Superman do in our situation any place, any time? Think about it, a world full of people who have become their own version of the personalized Superman! Not the one wearing tights and a cape, but the one going to school or working as a reporter on a daily newspaper.

Friedrich Nietzsche called it the “Ubermensch” or Superman, which he believed was a goal for humanity to set for itself. The goal of “best human.”

Again, being the best YOU you can be.

Seriously, if we were to take on this charge, of being the best representation of human that we can be, the Earth would be a marvelous place.  How about we take this Christmas season and truly live it as if WE were Santa Claus himself! Like we were the ones living on  Manhattan’s 34th Street, like in the movie about that miracle. BE the one going to work at Macy’s every day and fixing himself dinner in a one-room apartment.

Humans are supposed to be smarter than what we’ve become. How about we start behaving as real Hued-man Beings?

Recently, we made a meme. It’s now the cover of this blog. The photo was taken at Coral Castle on U.S. 1 near Florida City, Fla. It was built by one man without modern-day equipment.

“Human beings are extraordinary beings that can do extraordinary things,” but in this day and age, it takes an extraordinary human to think past the World’s influence, and it takes having confidence in what we have chosen.

So, what would the Ubermensch do? Who is the Superman in your life? … It should be you, you know.

As I used to tell my students, “be the best You you can be.” There’s no shame in that.

So you like to draw, but all you can draw is stick figures, then be the best hangman artist you can be. Take what you have and make the most of it. Be your own saviour.

Be Like Superman in all you do, my friends.

Let’s truly make this the Christmas Season that launches the new perfect vision of the coming 2020.

Merry Christmas season, my friends. (See you at the Wedding Feast!)
